Deacon is absolutely stunning to look at and has a phenomenal temperament! He is a big boy, but is light on his feet and doesn't put a foot out of place. His first day in ASCA he obtained 8 points toward his Championship. We held him in the classes for the 2019 ASCA National and he did not disappoint! Deacon won Winners Dog and Best of Winners at a Pre-Show, Best in Sweeps and Winners Dog at the National, and finished off the week winning Premier Dog at the Post-Show.
He is sired by our handsome boy Kaycei who is the 2018 Top 30 Conformation Finals Winner and 2018-2019 ASCA #1 Conformation Dog. His mother is the stunning Dulce. She has an amazing show career winning Best of Breed at the 2016 ASCA National Specialty and was the 2015-2016 ASCA #1 Conformation Dog.
In 2023, for the second year in a row, Deacon finished in the Top 5 for both standings and the Top 50 Herding Dog in the country. For me, this is an amazing accomplishment because we only show part-time. Family, work, and life come before showing dogs. It took me a very long time to come to the realization that balancing life is more important than showing every weekend.
As a breeder, Deacon is the dog we’ve always dreamed of breeding. He’s all our goals wrapped in to one red dog with a huge heart. He is literally one of the hardest dogs I’ve shown and I’ve contemplated giving up so many times… No surprise, though, he is my favorite to show… Hands down. Through all our ups and downs, we always seem to figure it out and become a better team.
Deacon’s ultimate accomplishment is being the #1 Bestest Boy!!! He my constant companion, my couch princess, the dog I know commits to me day in and day out, cold shoulder giver, fancy paws champion, dinner and breakfast-time harasser, human heartbreaker, judgy mcjudge pants, Corgi tender, best high-fiver, springboard spinner, and so much more.
I’m not sure what the future holds for my perfect pet; but we have a few small goals in mind. His story isn’t over just yet… Bring on 2024.
